A Passion for Influencing My Surroundings

From my earliest years in Puerto Rico, I developed a strong affinity for having an impact on the world around me. Whether it was through transforming my childhood bedroom with a fresh coat of paint or tending to the family garden, I always found joy in taking the lead in designing my environment.

Fueling this passion, I pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico. This educational journey provided me with a deeper understanding of human behavior and cognition, further inspiring me to explore the profound influence design can have on our emotions and well-being.

Motivated to expand my horizons, I embarked on a new adventure, leaving behind my familiar surroundings in Puerto Rico. With an oversized suitcase packed with determination, I set my sights on Florida, where I pursued and obtained a Master's Degree in Psychology. This achievement solidified my expertise in the field and equipped me with a more knowledge of the human mind, and what fulfills us.

Throughout my academic endeavors, I discovered the profound connection between psychology and design. The concept of shaping our surroundings to positively influence mental and emotional states resonated deeply with me. This realization propelled me towards a path where I could merge my passion for design and psychology in a meaningful way.

As I look to the future, I am excited to explore opportunities that allow me to translate my love for influencing environments into a fulfilling career. Whether it be through interior design, therapeutic spaces, or other innovative avenues, my aim is to leverage my educational background and combine it with my innate sense of design to create spaces that nurture well-being and peace of mind.

I wholeheartedly believe that our surroundings play a crucial role in shaping who we are and how we feel. With this conviction, I am determined to continue on my journey of bridging psychology and design to make a positive impact on the lives of others, one space at a time.

Why…

Towards the end of my time studying in Pensacola, I had the fortune of meeting my future husband. He was pursuing his dream of becoming a Naval Aviator through flight school. Our love story led us to tie the knot at NAS Pensacola, and from there, our grand adventure began.

We were truly blessed to have the opportunity to explore various parts of the world together. Our journey took us to the picturesque Bay Area in California, Whidbey Island in Washington, the vibrant culture of Okinawa in Japan, the tropical paradise of Pearl City in Hawaii, and eventually settled us in sunny Jacksonville, Florida.

As our family grew, with the arrival of our two sons, they were immersed in unique cultures and environments, fostering their growth and understanding of the world. Throughout our travels, we always made the best of each location by putting our creative energies into improving our "temporary quarters." Whether we lived on base or rented locally, these living arrangements rarely allowed for much personalization. Nevertheless, this limitation allowed my creativity to flourish as I found subtle ways to make our homes as warm and inviting as possible.

However, our sons were always our priority, and we realized that to provide them with a more stable and consistent lifestyle, it was necessary for my husband to retire from the Navy. Almost two decades have passed since then, and we have made our home in North Florida. It has grown on us, and we have come to love the area.

Our journey started in Pensacola, where fate brought us together, and it has led us through remarkable experiences and memories. Now firmly rooted in North Florida, we continue to cherish each moment, grateful for the adventures that shaped our lives and the love that remains at the core of our family.

I take the time to get to know my clients so that I can help them achieve their own goals when designing their space.

My goal as a designer…

To guide and assist our clients in creating spaces that not only reflect and support them today but also serve their needs tomorrow.

I am proud to be able to share my training and experience with you!
